The fact is that on Monday it became known about the approval of the transaction by the US Department of Justice. In addition, the European Union also approved this deal. It seems that there will be no more special obstacles, and the critical points have already been overcome. It is worth recalling that the amount of the transaction is rather big even for Google: $ 12.5 billion was paid for Motorola Mobility.

This purchase will allow the corporation, firstly, to use Motorola Mobility patents to their advantage, resisting both patent trolls and some large companies accusing everyone and everything of plagiarism. In addition, the purchased unit will allow Google to manufacture its own devices under its own platform, rather than negotiate with third-party manufacturers. As many of you know, Motorola Mobility is one of the largest manufacturers of Android-based smartphones.

It may well be that the actions of the corporation on this new market will entail new lawsuits from competitors.
