Battery problems for Nokia phones continue

While Nokia and Matsushita are busy replacing 46 million BL-5C batteries that have been found to be explosive, in India a completely different battery (BL-D3) battery injured a woman in an explosion. This thing exploded 10 minutes after starting to charge the phone. According to the victim, as a result of the resulting "fireball" she received minor burns.
What this threatens Nokia is not yet clear. But they will obviously have to carry out an additional investigation into the suitability of the BL-D3 series batteries. In the meantime, the company finds out whether the phone itself, the battery and the charger were made by Nokia. If this is confirmed, the corresponding compensation will be paid to the victim.
