China began to withdraw iPad from sale

Proview Taipei registered the iPad trademark in several countries in 2000, and in 2001 its subsidiary Proview Shenzhen registered the iPad trademark in mainland China.
Apple bought the rights to the brand from ProView Taipei in 2009 for £ 35,000 ($ 54,616), but according to the court, this deal does not give Apple the right to use the iPad brand in China.

ProView Shenzhen appealed to the Chamber of Commerce in Beijing, demanding to examine the issue and destroy advertising materials that violated the company's rights to the iPad trademark. The seizure began in Shijiazhuang County, southwest of Beijing. The instruction to hold similar actions has already been sent to more than 20 cities in China.

Now Apple will either change the name of the tablet, or buy off, or both.
