Yandex.Maps for mobile devices launched

Today, Yandex has launched Yandex.Maps mobile applications for Symbian, Windows Mobile and Java platforms.
Of the most interesting features, it shows the current state of traffic jams in Moscow and supports GPS.

Today, the application allows you to work with maps of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa and Krasnodar. Yandex plans to constantly update this list with new cities.

Mobile Yandex.Maps can be installed on any phone that supports Java MIDP2.0, and any devices on Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms - that is, on almost all models released after 2004.

When the application is running, only the parts of the map that are needed by the user are loaded, so the volume of transmitted data and the cost of traffic are minimal.

In addition to all the functions of the "desktop" option, with a GPS receiver, mobile maps show the user's location and direction of movement.
