On September 3, a community called izbircom appeared in the “live journal” dedicated to the work of the Central Election Commission of Russia, whose caretakers were Samson Sholademi and Inna Smbatyan, fairly well-known LiveJournal users.
The community was opened on the same day as the start of the election campaign. In his first entry, Sholademi stresses: “There has never been anything like this in Russia or abroad. We, as pathetic as it may seem, are pioneers. And therefore we still do not know what will come of this venture. ”
The community is open, there are no restrictions on entry and pre-moderation. According to the head of department, Vladimir Churov, the community was created with the aim of increasing voter turnout in the Duma elections scheduled for December 2.
