Very funny news came from distant Caribbean islands. Since the beginning of the first autumn month, Palm Island (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) has become the first Caribbean resort where the use of all sorts of portable devices such as laptops, PDAs, electronic organizers and, in particular, mobile phones is completely prohibited.
The ban came into force thanks to the initiative of Rob Barrett, the owner of the resort, who has long wanted to provide guests of the coast with complete peace of mind and the absence of annoying keyings and knocking of keys: “There is nothing worse than relaxing in a hammock while drinking daiquiri and suddenly hear a Motorola jingle behind your back” .
