Another step to PyCon.RU - ekb.py
In October, at PyCon.UA, the question from the participants from Russia was actively discussed - why do we not have any core activities at all? No events, no parties - even we go to Ukraine to PyCon.
I lead the Naumen Phone development team. We have been using Python for a long time in our developments and we consider it an excellent language. But unfortunately this great tool is deprived of attention in Russia - there are no conferences at all, although there are plenty of people willing to share their experience and debate.
We decided to hold an event dedicated to python in Yekaterinburg, where we live and work. Very quickly, people gathered to talk about their victories and “rakes”, to listen to “how are things from the neighbors”.
And here, on February 10, we (together with it-people.ru) are holding the first conference ekbpy.ru . We invite to it those who are already writing on the python, and those who still have no such experience, but there is interest. Representatives of such companies as Yandex, Naumen, NetAngels, Ideco-Software, 66.ru and others will make presentations at it. In addition to reports, we also planned a number of practical workshops.

In the future, we plan to hold other events, meetings, workshops.
We hope that in the near future it will grow into something more, and we will be able to conduct “PyCon Russia”.
