Twitter campaigns to boycott the resource

Understandably, for a reason, as a result of recent statements by resource management, namely, about the “soft blocking” of content. About it already wrote on Habré, and very few people liked this news. Actually, most of the users of the service do not like this either, and now the Twitter users themselves are boycotting the resource. The boycott is not very big yet, but this action has every chance of becoming quite noticeable.

Boycotting , used by a group of opponents of censorship on Twitter, is still quite soft - who for a day stops working with the service, who for a couple of days. Today, a “day of silence” was announced on Twitter, but something doesn’t seem like silence - just go to the service, and it will be clear why. Some protesters believe that Twitter executives should follow the example of the “Corporation of Good” during the Google-China conflict (in fact, Google still has a rather tense relationship with the leadership of this country).

As a reason why the blocking cannot be introduced, users cite the example of last year, when all sorts of different revolutionaries from Arab countries used Twitter as one of the main tools for their “work”. If you introduce censorship, then this just will become impossible, and Twitter may lose its relevance. In any case, many think so, including quite reputable journalists.

Well, as always, it was not without Anonymous. These guys are going to take revenge again, attacking the websites of various organizations, different countries that supported ACTA. For example, Anonymous is going to make an attack on the websites of state bodies of European countries, the European Parliament and others. In general, everything is as usual.
