Conference TEL-2012, Kazan
From January 25 to January 28, 2012, Kazan will host the XII Kazan school-seminar TEL'2012 “The buildings of national languages: models and technologies”. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Applied Semiotics of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, namely the Institute of Philology and Arts and the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technologies, as well as the Tatarstan branch of the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence and the Tatarstan Youth Public Foundation “Selat” .
The Kazan school-seminar on computer and cognitive linguistics TEL (Theory, Engineering, Language) has been held since 1999. The main subject of the school-seminar TEL'2012 covers a range of topics related to the development of buildings of national languages and the use of linguistic models and technologies. The corpus-oriented approach has acquired a special relevance for the study of national languages, and during the school-seminar prominent scientists from Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute of Steel and Alloys, Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of the Russian Language named after. V.V. Vinogradov RAS and others.
The program of the school-seminar includes survey lectures, reports, reports, thematic discussions and demonstrations of software systems. In addition to the main topic, such important issues of applied linguistics as linguistic databases, thesauri, ontology, models of national languages, cognitive modeling, analysis and speech synthesis, and national localization of computer technologies will be discussed. Abstracts of the reports included in the program of the school-seminar are published in the collection of scientific works of the Kazan school on computer and cognitive linguistics.
One of the main organizers and active participants of the TEL school seminar was the honorary professor of Kazan State University, the founder of the Kazan Cybernetics School, Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan, winner of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan on science and technology, prof. Rais Gatich Bukharaev. The TEL'2012 program includes a special Bukharaev session, the holding of which becomes a good tradition of the school seminar.

In the framework of the school-seminar, the section “Intellect. Tongue. Computer ”final conference KFU for 2011 and a master class of Dr. Filol. Sciences Rakhilin EV (Institute of Nuclear Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia) on the use of the national corpus of the Russian language in linguistic and educational applications.
