Google will lower in search results sites with a large number of ads

The other day, Google has announced an important decision: sites with an excessive amount of advertising will be reduced in the search results. This decision was made after a detailed review of user complaints, which remained dissatisfied with the quality of sites that are quite high in search results for a specific query. Turning to such a site, a user sometimes cannot find any content at all except advertising.

Matt Kats wrote that there will be underreporting sites where instead of useful content the user sees only advertising, and in order to get at least some information you have to scroll down the page. These are the sites and will be reduced in the issue. It is worth noting that Google is not going to lower the issue of sites with pop-unders and click-unders (and with other types of pop-up advertising). It's a pity.

So far, measures will be taken only in relation to sites with a large number of static advertising directly in the content. And yes, as usual, Google does not give clear criteria for what “a lot of advertising on the site” means. True, according to Kats, webmasters have nothing to be afraid of - the sites described above are no more than 1% of all resources indexed by Google.

After this information was published, there were immediately opponents of the decision. True, there are no fewer supporters, and maybe more, for many of us are already tired of websites that are really just filled with various kinds of advertising, and without useful content. Perhaps the most prominent representatives of the "advertisites" will disappear from the issue, and this is good.
