Google continues to close non-core free services. In 2011, dozens of projects were closed, including such useful ones as the Google Code Search source code search engine and the Google Maps API (became paid).

The
Social Graph API platform for creating an open social network on the Network was not sufficiently widespread and will cease operation on April 20, 2012.
Urchin's web analytics system was purchased in 2005 and became the basis for creating an online Google Analytics service. Now it's time to
say goodbye to a desktop program known as Urchin Software. All Urchin Software licenses will expire after March 2012.
The corporate service
Google Message Continuity , which enabled Microsoft Exchange clients to make backups on Google’s mail servers, will also be closed.
