To touch or to obey others?

the doors I read today the article "Secrets of Success . " I wanted to answer it first in the comments, but I decided to publish it as a separate post.

Someone else's experience is a good benchmark , helping not to waste time and energy on trifles, but often at the same time limiting our opportunities.

Here is a small metaphor explaining my idea:

Imagine a blind man who stands in front of a skyscraper in one of the rooms where he will find something incredible. He enters the first room, where there is a door through which he needs to go in order to continue his journey. To find it, he begins to touch the wall until he finally finds the door.
')
Depending on his luck, he will choose the right or wrong initial direction of his movement. It will depend on how quickly he finds his door. He can do it either at random, or by asking advice from those who have already been in this room and know where the door is. They can say that she immediately left steps at 10 from the entrance. Then he will find her much faster than he would have gone at random to the right.

But asking others, he relies entirely on their rightness - maybe his mother is not at all the one on the left, but the one on the far right. Having listened to someone else's advice, he probably will never find OWN door.

However, there may be another situation - to the room into which he needs to get in, eventually he needs to go through not one door, but through hundreds of doors. If he searches each of them blindly to the touch, his life is simply not enough to go all the way to the end.

The only way out in this case is to find exactly those people who know for sure through which doors you need to go through and where they are. But it may be that YOUR way is so unique that there are simply no such people, and all the advice will only bring you down.

What to choose? Only you decide ...
