Australia creates its own cyber security service

Following the United States and some other countries, Australia creates a specialized unit that will be responsible for the security of the entire country with respect to virtual reality. In other words, the unit being created will track the attacks of the attackers against the military and government networks, and ensure that all the country's key IT resources work as they should.



As usual, plans to create such a unit were announced a few years ago. But then the government of Australia, and not only this country, was engaged in combating the financial crisis, and the special cyber security unit was not created. But now the money was found, and soon the structure will begin to work in full force.

It is clear that such a specific unit cannot be part of the police, for example, so it was decided to make the "cyber" part of the ASIO (Australian Security Intelligence Organization) intelligence department. It is this organization that will be responsible for the work of the newly formed department. In addition, organizations such as the CERT Australia and the Cyber ​​Security Operations Center are involved.



The Australian Government is deeply concerned about the increasing attacks of various kinds of intruders on the key network resources of the country, including the military, industrial and civilian networks, and decided to give a fitting rebuff. Apparently, soon most of the countries will acquire similar units, and this is not a tribute to fashion, so to speak, but already an urgent need. As for Australia, among the countries of the G-20, it is in 17th place in its ability to counter computer threats.
