English Wikipedia will be disconnected for a day in protest against SOPA

Literally half an hour ago, in the English Wikipedia , the most extensive survey of participants in its history was completed ; 1800 people took part in it, and the overwhelming majority supported turning off the English section for a day in protest against SOPA and PIPA.

The main question was whether to disable the site in the US or around the world; As a result, the second option was chosen. January 18, at 9 o'clock in Moscow, the English Wikipedia will suspend its work for 24 hours. Only a protest page, articles on SOPA and PIPA will be available, as well as a page explaining why these bills are bad and a script that will help US residents find the contact details of their congressman.
