Network drive from Iomega at the price of a regular external hard drive
The company Iomega introduced a new line of network drives, the price for which is not much different from the cost of a conventional external hard drive. The disk space of devices that have received the general name Iomega Home Network Hard Drive is 320, 360 and 500 GB. Models of 320 and 500 GB can be purchased now at a price of $ 149 and $ 199, respectively.
All Iomega Home Network Hard Drive models are based on SATA-II hard drives, 8 MB cache, and a spindle speed of 7200 revolutions per minute. They also provide a USB 2.0 port for optional connection to a computer as a regular external drive. Network capabilities are provided by the presence of a built-in 10/100 Ethernet adapter. To configure the “system”, simply connect the drive to the router and install it on each PC that needs to provide access to the Iomega Home Network Hard Drive that comes with the device Discovery Tool Home. As for PCs based on Mac OS and Linux, in this case hardware configuration and settings will have to be done manually.
