Dear friends,
The conference for Java developers Java Day SPB 2012 will take place on February 10, 2012 in St. Petersburg. The conference consists of three streams: Java EE, Java SE and JavaFX, Java ME and Java for embedded systems. We took into account your wishes after last year’s event and expanded the halls for Java SE and ME streams. There will be another new and very interesting interactive stream, but its creators and speakers will write about it.

Participation in the conference is free. Pre- registration required

JavaDay SPB 2012 will take place in the conference hall of the Holiday Inn Moskovsky Gate Hotel at 97a, Moskovsky Prospect, St. Petersburg. The conference will begin with a plenary presentation by Georges Saab, vice president of software development at Oracle, Georges Saab. Mr. Saab’s responsibilities include the Java Virtual Machine, system libraries, and the Java language. In his report, he will talk about the events already implemented and the plans of Oracle for the further development of Java, as one of the most popular, reliable, scalable open source technologies for the global developer community.

Alexis Musin-Pushkin (Alexis Moussine-Pouchkine) will tell in the “JavaEE 7 - Development & The Cloud” report about trends in the Enterprise Java sector. You will learn about the changes and innovations of the next version of the Java EE specification, which opens up new possibilities for developing cloud-based systems: scalability, elasticity, service-orientation, etc.

Alexander Kuznetsov with the report “Java FX 2.0 - Application Possibilities and Java FX 2.1 News” will open the Java client application development topic, which will be continued by three more Oracle developers: Sergey Grinev, Sergey Malenkov and Oleg Sukhodolsky.

Sergey Walrus Kuksenko and Alexey TheShade Shipilev in the report “Methodology of Performance Optimization” will not tell you how to optimize Java programs. They will not tell you how to use your favorite profiler. Sergey and Alexey will tell you how to do the “right things” (TM), and not spend two weeks on accelerating the foo () method 100 times and get only + 0.001% speed on the entire application. About what to do BEFORE how to run the profiler. The report deals with “smart” words like “throughput”, “latency”, “utilization”, “scalability”, “Amdal law”.

But Java is not just Oracle. Java is 9 million developers worldwide. One of the brightest representatives of the Russian Java developer community, Jacob Sirotkin from Academic University, will tell us how to go from transactions to amino acids in a report of the same name.

The full Java Day SPB 2012 program is here.
