A look at the prototype smartphone on the platform of Intel Medfield
One of the world's largest manufacturers of computer processors, Intel , recently decided to fall for fashion and announced the launch of its own mobile platform, code-named Medfield . At CES , the first prototype of a smartphone running on this chip was presented.
The device was developed by Intel itself to demonstrate the capabilities of the Atom Z2460 (this is the main processor name) to potential gadget makers. And, indeed, there is something to show. ')
The processor with a frequency of 1.6 GHz and support for technology Multithreading copes with a variety of tasks, including graphics processing. In particular, the prototype quickly loads productive games, and the processing of photos and videos is very fast (see video).
Medfield is designed for Android devices . The first K800 smartphone using the chip has already been demonstrated by Lenovo. Let's see how comfortable Intel will feel in the company of such giants of mobile processor as Samsung, Qualcomm, Nvidia and Texas Instruments.
