CES 2012 // At Sony (Ericsson) again the “esochka”
Many expected that CES 2012 will be the last for Sony Ericsson. There were also rumors that Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD will be shown at CES. But everything turned out to be wrong: there were two smartphones with similar characteristics, both under the Sony brand, although most of the samples still featured the old Sony Ericsson logos, and the company managers very much asked not to photograph dual-brand gadgets.
I was surprised that in the long and frankly boring presentation, which was devoted mainly to how the Sony ships plow the expanses of the Bolshoi Theater, so little time was said about Xperia smartphones. No more than about the new 3D-glasses made of titanium or a remote control with a QWERTY-keyboard. But still Xperia S was announced personally by the president of Sony. Immediately we predict confusion: while the only Sony tablet is also called S. ')
By the way, the Pope of Rome was discovered in the same presentation - he was depicted with the Sony Tablet S. Tablet. Sometimes the competition with Apple takes on quite strange forms ...
That's what was said in the presentation about the Sony Xperia S: it has the largest screen resolution among Android backgrounds (like Sony Ion), and it is “PlayStation sertified” - i.e. it will be possible to play “console” games specially adapted for the smartphone. And they said that the device will go on sale in March.
Having got acquainted with the smartphone closer, you understand why this is not Arc - there is not in it that very arch, the curved part of the back panel, which made it special.
But still, the smartphone looks interesting. Although at first you click on the Android symbols on the plastic insert, you soon get used to the fact that these are just symbols, but you need to press a little higher, there is a touch strip.
Three chips: a 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, musicality (equalizers like "freaky sound" and the ability to quickly "share" your favorite tracks in the social network) and the camera (12 megapixels and super-fast photo launch). Compared the launch speed of the camera with the Samsung Galaxy Note - yes, impressive!
Dual-core processor 1.5 Hz, support for NFC and 32 GB of internal memory, but there is no slot for flash cards. So far, the "Esochka" is coming out on Android 2.3, but in the spring should get an update to 4.0.
