Nokia has closed a deal to acquire the developer of a mobile OS Smarterphone
Recently it became known that the Finnish manufacturer of mobile devices, the company Nokia, has acquired a company engaged in the development of a new type of mobile OS. This mobile OS is called Smarterphone. Interestingly, the deal was made last year, but it became known only now. Unfortunately, the transaction value is unknown. But some details are known about this OS.
So, it is intended exclusively for "advanced" mobile phones - not smartphones, but mobile phones. Smarterphone, according to the developers, allows mobile phones to be closer to the economy-smartphone segment. Accordingly, the cost of such advanced mobile phones will still be lower than the cost of a smartphone. We need all this in order to expand the segment of ordinary mobile phones from Nokia. ')
Smarterphone can do quite a lot of things - and work with several SIM cards, and interact with social services. In addition, this OS allows you to work with e-mail quite comfortably, and in general, perform most of the tasks that only smartphones can handle now. With all this, the cost of the final product, that is, a mobile phone with this operating system, will be no more than 25-75 US dollars.
According to analysts, this operating system is designed to replace Symbian, OS, which was previously very widely used in phones. Interestingly, now Nokia is focusing on the development of ordinary mobile phones that will be supplied to the so-called developing countries. Nokia is paying less attention to business smartphones from Nokia, but the unit that produces Vertu has either already been sold or is in a state of transmission to another company.
