Experts and journalists will discuss the history, practice and prospects for providing citizens with access to official information in Russia

In Moscow, on September 3, with the support of the Russian International Information Agency RIA Novosti, a round table “Ensuring access to official information in Russia” will be held, during which the history of the issue and its prospects, bills aimed at ensuring access of citizens, organizations and journalists to information about the activities of state authorities, local self-government, judicial bodies and other socially significant information, and many other issues.



The round table will be opened by the review report of the First Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia Vladimir Isakov “Legislation of the Russian Federation on Access to Information”. Then, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia Vladimir Radchenko will talk about the draft law “On ensuring the rights of citizens and organizations to information about the judicial activities of courts of general jurisdiction in the Russian Federation”, the working group for the development of which he headed.



There will also be told about the details of the law “On ensuring access to information about the activities of state bodies and local self-government bodies”, about the draft law “On introducing changes to Articles 38 and 39 of the Law of the Russian Federation“ On Mass Media ”, about regional experience in exercising the rights of citizens access to official information on the example of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and many other things.

The round table will end with a discussion of invited experts from the state, public and private sectors and the answers of the round table participants to journalists' questions.
