Hello, Habradrug!
I liked the idea of creating quests using a zip archive, as was done
in this post . By this link,
Maria (Nicolette) offered a quest, for the passage of which requires a little knowledge about esoteric programming languages. I tried to do a quest with the same principle, but it requires a little to be able to program and own some tools for working with files. Also useful skills non-standard thinking and searching for information in search engines. Usually, programmers are able to use these abilities together, so I decided to put the post into “sports programming”, since it doesn’t fit anywhere else.
To whom it is interesting to spend several hours solving my riddles, I ask for cat.
')
So, the quest consists of repeatedly embedded zip-archive, which must be fully unpacked, consistently selecting passwords. The password to the next zip-folder is a sequence of characters, which is the answer to the puzzle of the previous level. The first archive without a password.
Download the quest (332 Kb, md5 = 2855bb9b826a4c6ae414b64a70a062a9).[I hope, habraeffekta will not be]
Warning: the answer to almost all problems is a number! What is this number, you can always find out in the process of solving problems. Sometimes the answer may not be a number, but then it is specified, or it is obvious after receiving the correct answer.
From my point of view, Maria's quest is somewhat complicated, but this is interesting for someone. I tried to make the quest easier, focusing on a slightly larger number of successful passages (judging those by the comments in the post I specified). I'm not sure if it turned out as I would like, but I ask you to make a discount for the fact that this is my first attempt.
There should be no errors, I checked everything carefully. Ambiguities should not be too. Therefore, if something goes wrong with you, or you decide that in order to pass a level, it is necessary to do something absolutely incredible and difficult, it means that you are thinking in the wrong direction. Therefore, I will not take part in the comments if I do not see that someone has found a mistake or a serious joint.
Good luck!
Ps. Please do not make too overt prompts in the comments. I think it is absolutely pointless to prohibit making clues.UPD [04/01/2012]. As I did not try, but the cant still showed up. All passwords that contain letters consist of
lowercase letters , not capital letters (as written in the tooltip). Apparently, users understood it so quickly, but I still apologize to those who have broken their heads. My comment is
here .
