Once a few months ago there were a couple of hot discussions on Habré. The first is about the “bad user” that “rules” the design of Habra with banner cutters and generally substituted his css, and the second about that - “Should the habr be paid”.
Popular opinion (judging by the pros and cons of comments) can be summarized under:
* Native design to replace your own - do not care
* to cut Habra banners is bad, because there is a Habra for this
* Habra should be free.
My opinion was this:
* Native design to replace your own - do not care
* cut banners - normal, shore traffic and nerves, eyes are not distracted
* to some extent, the habr should be paid, because if all will cut banners, habre non-existence that will exist.

As you know, I was “in the minuses” :)
And here, I read the news today at cnews.ru:
Firefox users are blocked because of Adblock Plus (
link )
Partly, the site owner is right. On the other hand, ad-blockers are becoming increasingly popular. And blocking users is far from a solution.
But does the site need to exist for something, especially with a lot of traffic? It means either there will be promotional articles, or simply to take subsidies, or you will have to buy an “entrance ticket”.
ps thought visited, in Internet Explorer, Microsoft embeds Ad-Blocker.
With default filters that cut AdSense and other ad networks.
Everything, a curtain for contextual advertising.
pps: from the news article
"In addition, on a website called Why Firefox is Blocked, he laid out a code with which other webmasters can also block access to their resources."
