Dropbox is testing an automatic image upload feature.

The new beta version of the Dropbox cloud file storage app for Windows, Mac and Linux has been automatically downloaded to photos from connected mobile devices and / or various types of storage media. When you connect a mobile device, camera, or memory card, the application requests permission to automatically download images to a PC drive. Upon receipt of such a resolution, all photos and images will be automatically downloaded, and subsequently, with each new connection, the images will be synchronized automatically.

In the Dropbox folder, the Camera Uploads subfolder appears, where the images are imported. After that, the folder is synchronized with Dropbox servers, as it usually happens. According to those users who have already tried out a new feature, it all works fairly quickly and seamlessly. True, there is a downside: users who have a free account, and who will actively use the new function, will soon soon discover that there is not enough space. Perhaps this feature is an attempt to Dropbox to get more paid accounts.

In addition, the lack of a new feature is the fact that it is impossible to scatter photos into separate folders, and later synchronize photos with “their” folders, and not with the default folder.

On the other hand, such a function should be very useful for not very advanced users, who can now be sure that all images are automatically saved and nothing is lost, even by accident. As already mentioned, this feature is currently available only in beta. Perhaps with the appearance of a new official release of the Dropbox client, the image synchronization function will also become official, not a test one.
