Today it became known that the attack of hackers (some publications mention Anonymous, although the author of the tweet to which the sources refer is SABU, who is called the leader Lulzsec; you can see the original here ) was subjected to intelligence and analysis company Strategic Forecasting (the official website does not work ), better known by its abbreviated name Stratfor, which collects and analyzes information about events in the world. Based on the data collected, analysts of the company draw up economic and geopolitical forecasts, used, as it has now become known, by a number of government and financial organizations around the world: in this post on PasteBin, the US Army departments, the world's largest investment bank Goldman Sachs, and financial company MF are mentioned Global, as well as Microsoft and Apple.
The attack resulted in 200 GB of information, which includes bank documents, law enforcement reports, information about military contracts, internal correspondence, credit card numbers. Interesting is the fact that earlier members of the group have already warned about the "Christmas gift" - an attack on the websites of a number of large companies and institutions, including Stratfor, but in the latter, apparently, did not heed threats or simply could not resist them, As a result, the work of hackers was made much easier, because StartFor staff’s credit card data wasn’t even encrypted.
