IndexTank Search Engine transferred to open source

In October 2011, LinkedIn, a professional social network, bought IndexTank , a company that produces search technology. Obviously, a team of professionals was acquired first and foremost by the well-known specialist Diego Basch, the founder and CEO of IndexTank, and in the past one of the leading developers of Inktomi. As sometimes happens in such cases, the past products of the company decided to transfer to open source. Diego Bash announced that IndexTank software source codes are published under the free Apache 2.0 license and are available on github.

The IndexTank search engine is used on many large sites, including Reddit, Wordpress (a plugin for Wordpress) and BitTorrent. It provides indexing of content in real time, search based on geolocation, etc.
