It seems that Google is testing a new feature of its search service, which is to bring Google brand pages to the first places in search results. According to experts from the company BrightEdge, so far this function affects only the pages of brands. For example, this is what is shown when trying to find information on the query "AT & T".

It’s understandable that if the appearance of Google+ companies' pages in the search results of the Goodwill Corporation search service is not an accident, we can expect response actions from brands. It may well be that pages from Google+ will be modified and supplemented to be more visible in the search results (for example, a greeting message will be used).

In addition to AT & T, a Toyota company page appears in search results, as well as the pages of some other companies. According to representatives of BrightEdge, all this began to manifest itself in November.

Google has already commented on the situation, and it turned out that the appearance of brand pages in search results is all the “work” of the new Direct Connect function, announced in early November. According to this feature, brand pages will appear in Google search results that meet the standards announced by Direct Connect. It is worth noting that all this is still relevant for the United States (and, possibly, the UK).
Such an initiative has already caused a number of protests, and a couple of US senators even filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. So the anti-monopoly company will start checking the corporation again.
