Pirate forced to transfer to Windows

A funny incident happened in the USA. The former administrator of the torrent tracker EliteTorrents nicknamed sk0t (Scott McClend) was sentenced to five months in prison and five months of house arrest for putting on an Star Wars episode. He has already served a prison term, now it is time for the second part of the sentence. They put a guy on a radio broadcast on his wrist, and they decided to install a surveillance program on his personal computer to check all the actions of the former pirate on the Internet. But there was a problem. It turned out that the surveillance program works only under Windows, and the convict has Ubuntu Linux installed on his home PC. Without thinking twice, the authorities put an ultimatum to Scott: either you format the disk and install Windows, or you completely refuse to use the computer.

This punishment torrent geek did not expect. He still survived in prison, but the daily use of Windows turned out to be beyond his strength. “I got in touch with my lawyer,” Scott says, “and we’ll fight it.” I am not worried about the fact that they will watch me, the fact is that I will have to completely rebuild my life (another OS, other programs) ...
