Android infringes a patent on “retrieving a phone number from a message for use in another application”!
Some HTC Android smartphones violate Apple’s patent rights, recognized by the United States International Trade Commission (ITC). Fully complaint Apple was not satisfied. ITC recognized the validity of only a few complaints, such as, for example, using the technology of extracting a phone number or address from an email and automatically applying this data in another application. Since April 19, 2012, HTC will not be able to legally import and sell smartphones in the US that violate these patents. According to HTC’s chief lawyer Grace Lay, the company intends to remove these controversial “minor user interface features” from its smartphones.
PS Opinion TS: Patents for any successful implementation of the interface / iron rob us another hundredth chance to see a truly perfect, assembled from the best solutions, device.
