2GIS updates the online version of the directory
2GIS Online continues to evolve, improve and actively grow its audience. We present to your attention an updated version of the maps.2gis.ru directory . In this release, we completely updated the design and improved the search engine.
So, what exactly has changed ...
First of all, we updated the design of the entire project . At the same time, the main emphasis was placed on a more understandable and convenient card of the enterprise . Now the information in it is perceived faster, and it is easier for the user to navigate the search results. In general, the rubricator has become clearer, and many rough edges, noticeable in the previous version, have been refined.

In addition, we improved the search engine . The “Addresses” tab has disappeared in the new version - now the desired address can be found using the two “What” and “Where” fields. In addition to streets and houses, it is easy to find any places on the map , for example, “ Poklonka ” in Moscow, “ Five Corners ” in St. Petersburg, “ Varezhka ” in Yekaterinburg, and “ Bogdashka ” in Novosibirsk. If the user's query finds organizations and places at the same time, the results will be displayed in two appropriate categories. In the "Places" are recorded any objects found on the map: houses, streets, districts, parks and attractions.

When searching by organizations, the new version of 2GIS online suggests the rubrics to which the request most likely relates. For example, when requesting "Auto Parts", the user will be able to go to the desired rubric via a short link directly from the search results. Organizations can now be filtered by work time, payment method and site availability. Sorting by relevance or alphabetically is also available, and later on a sorting function by distance will appear.

Together with the Online version we launched new 2GIS plugs . The developers taught the algorithms to take into account zero and near-zero speeds, so the results became more accurate. In addition, depending on the class of roads, the service displays traffic jams with lines of different thickness and more correctly shows them at difficult junctions. The colors for highlighting objects also changed: previously, it was possible to take a selected street or district as a cork, now it is difficult to confuse them.

It is important to note that the Online version now fully works on the 2GIS Reference and Mapping API . Recently, the API product moved to a daily update , and, accordingly, the data in maps.2gis.ru also began to be updated every day.
