Vox.io - a new look at the idea of Skype

So, Vox.io is a service that allows you to call to mobile numbers and Vox.io accounts directly from the browser (both with and without video). And also make group calls (read, newsgroups), calls to e-mail (below) and send sms. Perhaps, while I was writing, something else appeared - the project is very lively.

On average, the price of calls in Russia is 2 rubles for a subscription and 4 rubles for "just calls". Upon registration, you will be immediately given 10 rubles (25 euro cents), and for each invited person you will be charged another 6 rubles (15 euro cents).

Below, I will talk in more detail about the 3 main Vox.io utilities that “hooked” me.

1. Calls

Actually, the calls themselves. Specify the phone number (with country code) or the name of the user, click on Enter , call. The quality of communication suits me perfectly, the prices are at the level of local operators.

As mentioned above, standard calls (without subscription) are charged at 4 rubles per minute. Calls between users are, of course, free. Extremely simple, convenient and understandable.

All calls come from the number associated with the account, so the recipient of the call does not notice anything unusual. The limit of attached numbers is not voiced (or it simply does not exist).

2. Calls to e-mail (Quick calls)

A letter comes to a person with a button, a person presses a button, allows a flash to use a microphone / camera, and calls.

Along the way, you can turn on / off the camera, adjust video quality, etc.

The potential of using this terribly useful feature is limited only by fantasy. I managed to do it both for technical support and simple communication with friends. I'm happy, I will continue.

3. Group calls

Work by analogy with fast. That is, the link is generated, and all who follow it enter your conference.

The maximum that test - 4 people at a time. The total maximum is not known, I did not find it on the site. With 4 interlocutors, communication goes without bugs (in general), the channel does not particularly load. Recalled the good old rooms in Skype and Google Hangouts.

Total

I like everything, I recommend it to everyone, and in general I am delighted.

PS The service is great at pulling in contacts from Gmail and briskly posting “quick calls” to Facebook. If you get carried away - you can transfer half a day to the calls of the curious and "wow, how cool it works." Be careful.
