A cheaper clone of the Raspberry Pi is being created.

It seems that the Raspberry Pi the size of a plastic card spawned a real fashion for computers of a miniature form factor. We know about the patent Nvidia on a computer flash drive that connects to the USB-connector of the TV. Now another “clone” has appeared, and it promises to be better than the original in all respects: more powerful, smaller and cheaper.

The public organization Rhombus Tech is going to present to developers the reference design of a modular computer the size of a PCMCIA card. It will be equipped with an ARM Cortex A8 processor, three times more powerful than the 700 MHz ARM11 in the Raspberry Pi, and the wholesale price of the new PC is only $ 15, which is 40% cheaper than the Raspberry Pi for $ 25.

The only difference is that the idea of Rhombus Tech is only in the plans ( wiki for proposing ideas ), while Raspberry Pi will go into mass production in I quarter. 2012, and copies of the test batch begin to sell in the coming days.
