"Rambler-Games" bought a game resource AG.ru

Today, Rambler-Games signed an agreement with VimpelCom to acquire AG.ru, a popular game resource with a monthly audience of over 2 million visitors (Top 100, October 2011).

AG.ru is one of the first communities of gamers in Russia, the largest catalog of games in Russian and the only Russian resource whose ratings are taken into account when rating products on metacritic.com, the main global website about games.

The deal will allow the Rambler-Game to significantly increase the audience of hardcore gamers on their resources. Recall that in June of this year "Rambler" was also acquired by the Kanobu Network, the leading network of media resources about games in runet. As a result of the deal, Rambler-Games services (a monthly audience of 1.1 million people, TNS, March 2011) and Kanobu (a monthly audience of 3.1 million, Google Analytics, March 2011) were merged into one company under the brand Rambler , which immediately entered the top three gaming media. The acquisition of AG.ru will further strengthen the position of "Rambler-Games" in the gaming industry.

The segment of games in runet is one of the fastest growing, the audience grows annually by an average of 27%, and the market by 30%. Between 2008 and 2011, the game audience’s share increased from 18% to 31%. By 2015, it is expected to reach a share of the game audience of 42–44%. This is the current level of gaming audience share in the USA. The estimated audience of online games in RuNet by 2015 will be 25 million unique users.
