Quite a lot of Android users wouldn't mind technology like Siri. The latter may not be very practical, like many other "voice" applications, but it is very interesting. There are already several alternatives, but there is no official technology from Google, which would be similar to Siri. Probably for this reason, wanting to
take a larger percentage of the mobile application market to please Android users, "Good Corporation" bought Clever Sense.
This company is the developer of the Alfred application, a pretty “smart” digital assistant. Terms of the transaction, as always, were not disclosed, but we don’t really need them. The main interest is how the notorious Alfred, which has become part of Google, will be used.
')
It is worth noting that this technology is quite different from Siri. Well, at least by the fact that Alfred does not recognize the voice of a person, he (for the time being) is deaf. Although the Google engineers are clearly not difficult to attach Alfred's ears, so to speak. Google's voice recognition technology is developed quite strongly, so there will be no problems with this. Now the application from Clever Sense is quite able to offer the user to visit nearby restaurants, cafes or other places to satisfy hunger and increase the level of cultural development.
Siri, however, can also answer the user's questions, talking about the weather, showing news or direction to the requested object. But whether Alfred is capable of this is not yet clear. In addition, it is not clear why Google began to call Alfred - Alfred. The fact is that the head of Clever Sense had previously called him Seymour.
Seymour representatives have already announced that joining Google will allow the company to “open a new chapter” in development. It is possible that it will be so, and Alfred (or Seymour) will soon become an integral part of Android-smartphones.
