Spring Framework 3.1 GA released

image
Finally, after quite a long time, the beta and release candidates released a new stable version of the wonderful Spring Framework. English announcement here , and in Russian - under the cut

So - from the tasty (vending me):
* The caching mechanism (about which I have already written something);
* Profile support (the ability to easily switch the configuration to different environments)

and:

* Servlet 3.0 support and Spring Framework configuration without using web.xml (although I don’t think that right now many people use it)
* Improvements in REST
* Improvements in JPA support (promised that JPA can be raised without persistence.xml) and support for Hibernate 4.0
* Support for new features of Java 7 (to be honest, I haven’t used it yet - therefore, it’s hard for me to say exactly what it is and why it is funny).
')
Good evolutionary step forward, thanks to the SpringSource team for the new release!
