Google Celebrates Robert Noyes 84th Birthday

Only a few selected individuals were honored to have their own doodles from Google, such as Gregor Mendel , Alexander Calder, and Lucille Ball . Today's hero of the occasion is none other than, alas, Robert “Bob” Noyce , co-founder of the microchip, who left us. After founding Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel , he became a mentor for young engineers, earning himself the name "Mayor of Silicon Valley". Visit Google's homepage and you will see its logo imprinted on a microprocessor, the birth of which was helped by Bob.
