Google launched a digital magazine for iOS and Android

New Google Currents application is a digital magazine for iOS and Android, which includes the full text of articles from more than 180 publications. Now the application is available only for US users in the Android Market and in the Apple App Store .

Google Currents takes content from sites that you read and reformats it into a more portable format optimized for tablets and phones. If you are familiar with the Flipboard application, then this is practically the same idea - turning web content into magazines.

Optimized for phones and tablets, Currents offers text, audio, photos and videos, including offline, and the ability to connect Google+ and Google Reader user accounts along with RSS, video and photo streams.

More new materials are put in the application to the fore. Every hour, Google Currents creates a collection of publications, tracking the latest relevant materials from various categories, including the world, entertainment, sports and science. For each material related articles, videos and photos are shown.

Of course, the application is integrated with social networks, which makes it possible to share your favorite materials, photos and videos via Google+, Twitter, email and other ways. If you use multiple devices with one Google account, then all your subscriptions will be synchronized across all devices.
