Greetings to all habrazhiteli! Today I want to share with you information about the amazing device - a wireless audio / video card for a variety of mobile gadgets (while Android and Nokia N900 devices are supported) that broadcasts a wireless signal to a TV or projector: (photo from dreamchip.de) So, for those who want to learn more about the history of * bounds question, you can read here .
And we will list the already available information with a few brief abstracts:
The idea of * bounds was first applied to the Nokia N770 / N800 / N810 tablets;
The rebirth happened this year - the first commercial samples saw the light at the end of November on DroidconNL (see the link above for more details);
The device has a compact size of the format of the Stick, easily connects directly to the HDMI input;
Since none of the available demonstrations of the xBounds power cable was noticed, we make the assumption that a battery is already built into the receiver, which makes it even more mobile!
For wireless communication, no special transmitter is needed - just a stick and software;
The device can receive a signal via Wi-Fi, USB and even via Bluetooth!
When transferring occurs vector re-rendering - you will not see the ugly pixels, despite the difference in resolutions of the smartphone and the TV. Everything will look smooth even on a huge FullHD screen!
The technology is fully software and portable - in the future you will not even need a “GPU-stick” - you just need to run the xBounds application on a “smart” TV / set-top box;
Very low latency, despite rendering at the same time two resolutions - a smartphone and a TV (the delay is less than Intel’s WiDi technology, since H.264 compression is not used) and the struggle to reduce it is still going on;
Simultaneous broadcast from several mobile devices to one TV (split-screen) is supported;
The xBounds software client can be easily implemented not only on Android, but also on any other, both mobile and desktop OS - Apple's ATV / AirPlay has a worthy competitor!
And the sweetest is the latest video from Bernd Steinke, one of the creators of the technology:

Well, it remains to wish the authors of the project good luck, because the release of the official DevKit is scheduled just for the end of this, the beginning of next year, and we need patience, because it is clear that a new product is not born perfect, but it becomes!
