Today, Adobe
has released an update to Flash Player 9 code-named “Moviestar” with support for high-resolution video in H.264 format. This codec is used to encode the video stream in Blu-Ray and HD-DVD discs. Now Flash Player allows you to broadcast such a video of truly fantastic quality over the Internet.
In addition, the new version adds support for
hardware acceleration of the video stream for multi-core processors, as well as support for the High Efficiency AAC (HE-AAC) high-quality audio codec, which is called the “MP3 heir”.
The beta version of Flash Player 9 Moviestar should be posted today during the day at
labs.adobe.com , and an official release is expected in the fall.
