“Feel” the difference or virtual textures that you can touch!

Today they sent a link to the cNet video, where Senseg showed the technology of recreating surfaces on smooth screens. A quick search showed that it is being advertised for at least half a year.

Result of work: the user touches the normal screen with his hand and feels grit, roughness or something.

The technology is based on the method of creating various friction forces on the so-called tixels (touch / texture pixel?). They say that they cooperate with Honda. And yet, they promise to release something working in a year. As braintorch suggests, power consumption will be barely noticeable.

I wonder if the technology will take off or not? Where it can be used sensibly? We make bets!
