TES 5: Skyrim song bard

On neighboring blogs and websites, a cover of a bard song from the new game of The Elder Scrolls series - Skyrim recently appeared. If, suddenly, someone missed this video with the fabulous voice of Malukah , then I advise you to fill the gap:

And then - more ...

I am not familiar with the whole series of Elder Scrolls, but when that walked around the world Daggerfall . I liked the song, although I was embarrassed by the words at the end. That is, I simply did not understand them. This is definitely not English. So I spent a couple of minutes and found the original performance with subtitles .

And here it became really interesting - in the subtitles there is not only this strange language, but also the translation! I could not resist and climbed for answers to wikis and search engines. The solution is not simple - it is the language of dragons (Dragon language)! The Internet suggested that earlier (from the 1997 TESL: Battlespire game) the Elder Scrolls games used the runed alphabet (Daedric alphabet). Later it was finalized and a new font was created - Oblivion. You can compare the fonts of different versions of the game here .
')
However, for the new version, a new language was invented and developed - Draconian (with GameInformer ):

All the characters of the alphabet are written as if by a dragon's paw - three long strips from the main claws and one short (or full stop) from the spur. As in Daedric, each letter has an analogue in the English alphabet or is a syllable. Fans of Elder Scrolls assembled in parts (from video, interviews, user manuals and the game itself) translation of words and soon on reddit posted the translation of the song, the one that I saw on youtube.

I would like all games to pay such attention to details and think over an intricate and interesting world with their own laws and language. Specifications and graphics at a height in almost all modern games. Few people disgrace stupid AI or weak physics. But the scenarios recently more and more resemble Hollywood blockbusters - a beautiful picture, a lot of movement and a little sense. Against this background, Skyrim seems to me even somehow warm and tube-like, although he is a month old, and I didn’t even play the game, but only listened to the bard and read a couple of blogs. It did not leave me indifferent, and I'm already in a hurry on Steam, since it seems I missed the game of the year.

By the way, I would love to hear how the Russian publisher Skyrim - 1C translated the song. If there are references, share.

UPDATE :
There was a link to the Russian version of the song (intro only). In my opinion it’s pathetic, but I never buy localization, precisely because some things cannot be translated and there is no fault of the translators.
And here is an interesting article about the translation itself.
Thank you IllariPosselt
