The Android platform from Google is developing not prostro quickly, but very quickly. One version replaces another, and with each new release this mobile OS becomes more and more perfect. True, manufacturers of mobile devices do not always keep up with the times, updating the software of their Android devices to the latest versions. It often happens that the newest devices come out with not the most "fresh" operating system. Actually, the statistics of using versions of Android OS can be seen in the sequel.
Currently, six versions of this mobile operating system (Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, and Ice Cream Sandwich) live on different mobile devices. Gingerbread is still leading, occupying about 50% of the total market for Android smartphones. In statistics, we are talking about smartphones, tablets with Honeycomb do not count. In general, for the time being, each device with Gingerbread accounts for one device with an older version of the OS.

As for Ice Cream Sandwich, this OS is still too “fresh” to have time to take its rightful place in the market of Android systems. But Froyo still occupies about 35.3% of the market, plus Eclair owns another 9.6%. And yes, devices are still alive with the first versions of Google's mobile OS, including Donut and Cupcake. Some of these OS versions are installed not only on mobile phones, they are already rare here, but, for example, on smartbooks, various mini-computers, and
TVs also did not go without an operating system from Google. But on such devices, the operating system cannot be updated, or its updating is too difficult for an ordinary person, not a boom.
Experts believe that the situation should change soon, and Ice Cream Sandwich will gradually increase in popularity. The same applies to the previous version, Gingerbread, which will gradually “snap off” market share from Froyo. The only question is how quickly mobile device manufacturers and software developers will be able to upgrade the platform.
