Some time ago, I got myself a virtual Visa Internet payment card in Privatbank for purchases through Paypal. On this card I keep a small balance and, if necessary, pay for something, transfer money to it from the salary card of the same bank.
Story
On Friday evening, I decided to pay a couple of lots on ebay, transferred $ 230 to a visa, and in private24 they wrote that the payment went into processing. Usually enrollment takes place within 2-3 minutes.
I try to pay, Paypal writes that the card has expired and asks to either update the card data or link a new one. (there was still about $ 40 left on the card)
The first thought is why in privat24 there was no notification of this.
I am writing to chat to solve the problem, I was offered to issue a new card and write a statement (directly on the site) about transferring the balances from the old card to a new one
I asked for the account of fate $ 230, which was written off from the salary card (in hryvnia equivalent). I make a transfer, I go to the "Archive of payments" - the transfer is blocked. Again, I am writing to the chat room, where I am offered to write again to the operator a letter about the transfer of money from the old visa to the new one.
I ask about 230 bucks that are stuck somewhere, they promise to return: “Tomorrow in the operating time the payment will return. „
I did not find any data on the card’s validity anywhere, I asked this question, in response, “when you open the Internet visa, the information about the card’s validity period comes in a letter. „
I deleted the letter a year ago - the card’s expiration date may not be recognized ...
Question! What prevented the card to check the status before the transaction, which prevented sending at least some notice that the card expires. Well, for three days to return the money (I understand that 2 days off, but still)
Tip!
The validity of the card can also be checked in Paypal in the menu “Profile -> add / change card”. Check when the card expires, order a new one in advance (re-issuing these cards for some reason does not do privat), transfer all the money from the old one to it before it closes.
The disadvantage lies in the fact that binding to Paypal a new card also has a certain procedure with a test payment of $ 1.95, which wouldn’t be necessary if the private card re-issued the old card.
Fortunately, the new card is valid until September 2014, so there is a time margin.
