Operation Robin Hood: the redistribution of global finance in favor of 99%
Anonymous together with the TeaMp0isoN group announced the start of the “charity” operation “Robin Hood” . They are going to transfer money from credit cards issued by large banks in favor of charitable organizations and ordinary people.
Since banks charge off their fraud transactions to their customers, the losses ultimately fall on the banks themselves (in fact, this is not the case, see below about chargeback fee). Hacktivists hope that in this way there will be a redistribution of wealth from the financial elite to 99% of the rest of the population, in the spirit of the Occupy movement.
In their video statement, a representative of the hacker group says that they have already used Bank of America, Chase and CitiBank credit cards to list "thousands of dollars to protesters in different countries of the world, to poor people and charitable organizations." Anonymus calls on all carders to join the "noble" movement.

This is not the first attempt by “Anonymus” to push for a redistribution of global finance in favor of 99%. Recently, they supported the Cash Back operation on a massive withdrawal of deposits from commercial banks and transfer of funds to local credit unions, organized on the P2P principle. World Balance Transfer Day is scheduled for December 11th.
Concerning the operation “Robin Hood” there are big doubts that it can cause real damage to large banks, because security departments promptly monitor fraud transactions. Moreover, you will cause damage to a charitable foundation if you transfer money to it from someone else’s card. Under the current rules of Visa and Mastercard, this organization will be forced to pay a chargeback fee if it receives a fraud transaction. That is, the whole point of the operation is lost. It seems that hacktivists are poorly versed in the nuances of payment card processing. In addition, with a large amount of fraud transactions, banks in general can block any payments in favor of a charitable organization.
As a result, charity organizations gain nothing from Operation Robin Hood, they can only suffer. The security services of the banks will have a headache, but the banks will not suffer much either.
