Answers to questions about the PlayBook 4G and PIM applications

Answer: Version 2.0 is only software for running a PlayBook via WiFi only. Although a cellular device or 4G PlayBook will be released at the same time as software version 2.0.

Question: Is the release of the PlayBook 4G delayed?
Answer: We conducted testing for several months on 4G devices and several cellular operators. Active testing was conducted by several groups, and I have not heard of any delays. As of today (November 22), I have not heard anything to knock us out of the schedule, the issue is scheduled for early 2012.

Question: Will the 4G model support voice functions?
Answer: At first - no, only for video chat. There is no possibility to call a regular phone from the PlayBook. Although, this is not the final solution. In the first release there will be only chat and video chat. Also, there are third-party applications that allow you to call using a PlayBook on a landline phone; there are no such applications from RIM.

Question: Is it planned to release a PlayBook of other sizes (with a different diagonal)?
Answer: Of course, we unconditionally consider options of other sizes, and there is a sense in the larger screen. I can not say the exact size and show something, but we are studying this issue.

Q: What about the Bridge?
Answer: In version 2.0, the speed of the Bridge is improved. The user interface changes are few, mainly improvements and some functionality. We do not refuse Bridge. While in version 2.0 performance is improved, and in the future there will be several updates.

Question: How fast is the synchronization of the PIM application with the BlackBerry? Is there a delay?
Answer: The time is relatively the same. I did not notice any delay in receiving messages on the PlayBook compared to the BlackBerry.

Another question: And is the Push infrastructure supported?
Answer: Yes. The infrastructure is essentially the same. It works the same way on both the BlackBerry and the PlayBook. It supports the same level of security as in the familiar BlackBerry communication channel.

Question: Can I edit messages and check spelling in the mail client?
Answer: Yes, of course. The logic of the BlackBerry PlayBook version 2.0 corresponds to the advanced keyboard input and the predetermined word. Spell checker installation possible.
