State Duma presented the deputies' income in a new form

We continue a series of articles on innovations on the website of the State Duma . Previous articles: first and second .

This time, a number of new products were launched on the State Duma website: an updated section of the incomes of deputies and civil servants, a single search on the site, the extension of the deputy’s page, the mobile version of the site and the Parliamentary TV section . About all this more under the cut.

Single site search

As the site is updated and developed, it gradually “acquired” accompanying systems , both external and internal, the number of which already exceeds a dozen: these are databases for storing transcripts of deputies' speeches, informational and analytical materials, bills, videos, and others. The module now allows you to perform a single search not only for the site, but also for the main information systems and databases.
')

The previous version of the search, which works on the basis of the 1C-Bitrix Search module, is now one of the components of the new search, and returns the results for the News and Video sections. Search in transcripts and informational and analytical materials is carried out using Sphinx , which is used in the corresponding systems, I wrote about this in a previous article . A search for bills uses the recently launched API search for bills .

By the way, the advanced search on bills is also fully transferred to work through the API. This makes it possible to subscribe to RSS feed updates of search results .

For popular queries, a number of terms, abbreviations a dictionary was entered, the search results for which are displayed above the main issue.

A similar implementation of a uniform search has been prepared in the mobile version of the site.

Updated sections Revenues of deputies and civil servants of the State Duma

Previously, information on the incomes of deputies and civil servants was published in the form of two PDF files of 200 pages each, which was difficult to navigate. We have prepared a separate database for loading and storing this data, as well as a “human” interface for working with these sections.

In the new interface information is presented in the form of a table with alphabetical pagination, the ability to sort and filter data. In fact, this decision was laid many small "features" that make it really comfortable. For example, when sorting a table by income, the joint income of a family, rather than its individual members, is taken into account, which makes the picture more objective. Objects of movable and immovable property are brought together in the form of tabs. We also did a lot of work on preparing filters for the table: multiple duplicates in the property data were removed. The final set of values in the filters somewhat struck our imagination: the deputies, as it turned out, own property, ranging from a vegetable storehouse and a room in a boarding house, ending with a gas station and railway tracks :)

New version of the deputy page

The new page of the deputy now displays information on the number of bills he initiated, and the number of speeches in plenary sessions. The block “Last events on the bills of the deputy” is detailed: now it displays the results of the latest reviews of the bills. Now it is possible to send an appeal to a deputy (for now, however, not everyone). Also on the page added information about the income of the deputy and his family members.

The Deputies section has been adapted for the mobile version, where all the information about the State Duma deputies present on the main site is fully presented.

New version of the Parliamentary TV section

In the Parliamentary TV section, you can copy the link to a specific position in the video.

You can store and play videos in mp4 format. On devices without a flash plug-in, such video will be played using html5. We hope that soon the State Duma’s Office will begin to publish materials in this format.

We also improved the database with video materials and the player, which now allow the editors of the section to add comments to the videos.

That's all! We think innovations facilitate the search and familiarization with information about the deputies and their activities in the last convocation, as soon as the elections will be soon.

In the next article we will talk about how the special version of the site was done for the visually impaired.
