Today I caught the eye of this picture and, honestly, I was a little upset. I, like many probably, have long noticed a tendency to reduce the popularity of Ubuntu, but so far it has been said in narrow IT circles, and today they are already talking about it on news sites. After the release of Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal, where Unity was installed by default, the share of popularity on the distribution market began to fall and since last year has fallen by 47%.
Of course, the Ubuntu rating has gone down before, but not in the same way as after the release of Natty Narwhal in April 2011. But the popularity of Mint increased by 105%. They played with their Unity. But I want to believe that this crash won't take long, the Ubuntu developers will analyze their mistakes, our preferences, take them into account in subsequent releases, and it will again be in 1st place.
UPD After the debate about the validity of this schedule, I proposed an idea to conduct a survey, which
appplemac 'was executed.
What Linux distributions do you use on desktops? . Results differ from data. But let's not forget that every opinion has a right to exist.
