One of the world's largest manufacturers of electronics and home appliances, Samsung has entered a new market for itself - LED bulbs for home lighting, releasing a
line of seven standard-sized sizes with a light temperature of 3000K (warm white, ideal for residential premises). The products of the South Korean company claimed a service life of 40,000 hours, that is, about 36 years with normal use of three hours a day, which is quite an average for LED lamps. After the development of the resource, the LEDs begin to lose brightness up to a complete attenuation after about 100,000 hours.
For comparison, conventional incandescent lamps have a service life of about 1000 hours, halogen ones have 2000 hours, and fluorescent ones have about 12,000 hours.
Samsung lamps are sold at premium prices - from $ 17 for the cheapest 4-watt MR16. All prices are for the American market.

However, given the company's leadership position in the global market for LED TVs and the expansion of production space, it is possible to guarantee that prices will drop significantly in the coming years. In addition, now manufacturers of LED-bulbs are forced to adapt to the bulky and archaic sizes of the previous generation, which also has a bad effect on the price.
The largest manufacturers of LED lamps in the world are GE, Philips and Osram, but recently Chinese and even Russian manufacturers have appeared (see
comparative tests ). Samsung can significantly change the situation on the market.
