Camera found in ocean, owner found via Google+

For Sale: Canon EOS 1000D
Note: once was under water in the Pacific Ocean, about a year.

The announcement of such comic content was published the day before yesterday by Canadian Marcus Thompson on the social network Google+. He explained that he had found a camera in the bay near the local harbor, where he was diving to work. The diver removed the SD card, cleaned it, inserted it into the card reader - and, to Marcus's surprise, she earned! On the map there were about fifty photos from family vacations. “So if you know a fireman from British Columbia who won a fire sport competition in 2010, lives with a beautiful wife and (already) two-year-old daughter, then let me know,” Markus Thompson wrote in his blog.

Several years ago it was difficult to imagine such a thing, but the search for the right person took only a few hours.

Google+ users found the results of a fire sport competition on the web in half an hour, in three hours a video on Youtube where they could see the winner Graham McKinsey’s face, and soon the phone of his fire department. By evening, Markus Thompson was able to call the owner of the camera and inform him of the find. Such is the power of social networks!

Here are a couple of photos of the "drowned." Probably, it is no longer subject to recovery. But at least the photos are preserved.
