It has long been rumored that Facebook is preparing its own phone, “sharpened” to work with the eponymous social network. Actually, various mobile device manufacturers have already presented their versions of “facebook phones”, but this time the social network decided to take it into their own hands. Moreover, none of the variants of “sociophones" have become popular, most have not even recouped the costs of companies for the production of such devices.
Most likely, the company HTC will create the branded device. The device will be running Android OS. In this case, it is planned that the device will be a significant competition to existing devices running iOS and Android.

It may well be that the branded phone, sharpened by Facebook, can really become popular - because the audience of this social network is hundreds of millions of people (800 million at the moment, if I'm not mistaken). If at least every tenth person buys by phone, the phone can already be considered very successful. In principle, even buying a device by every hundredth user on the network is a success.
Now the code name of the project is Buffy. Characteristics are unknown, it is only known that the device, or rather, its software, will support HTML5. It is also known that if HTC for some reason will not cooperate with Facebook, the latter will turn to Samsung with a similar proposal for the release of a branded phone.
