Google reduces the price of chromabuki

Google, in an effort to compete with manufacturers of laptops and netbooks, has announced price cuts for some Chromebook models. Changes in price will affect most models manufactured by Samsung and Acer. The planned price reduction will be about 30%, which is quite a lot. The average price of a chromabuk will thus be $ 300.

Now such devices are sold mainly in the US, and representatives of other countries can buy such devices on Ebay. Now the configuration of the Chromebook has been slightly changed - in any case, the ability to work with SD cards has been added. Previously it was planned that devices from Google will work exclusively in the "cloud". But still it was decided to provide these laptops with minimal autonomy.

A regular Chromebook is not a powerful device. The average configuration includes the Intel Atom platform, SSD-drive with a capacity of 16 GB, 2 GB of RAM. And all this was sold at a price of $ 429, which cannot be called a low price for such a configuration. Now, an entry-level Chromebook (without a 3G module) will cost $ 299.

All these changes in pricing policy are also timed to the holidays, which in the US begin earlier than in the CIS countries. And, as you can remember, during the Christmas holidays, Western markets set new records each year for the amount of money spent. Even in the crisis years, the amount of spending on gifts did not fall, people continue to buy.
